Graphic Designer Job Responsibilities:

Works with sales department and customer / clients to design graphic art files for the production of printed products.
Graphic Designer Job Duties:

Maintain a organized project schedule with logical or managment guided attention to job priority.

Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials from managment, sales team or customer.

Plans concept by studying information and materials.

Familiarizes himself/herself with production requirments for the specific project and advises sales team, managment, or customer of the impact that design choices may have on future requirments or projects.

Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.

Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.

Prepares graphic arts files required for presentation / proofing and eventual production of printed product(s).

Prepares final proof and sees that it is presented, that changes are made if required, and proof is approved.

Determine who will be entering production order and provide required files, material and information to put order into production.

If it is determined that he/she will be responsible for entering order for production, accomplish that task and associated record keeping.

Maintain an organized file of project art and backup copies of same.

Inspect and make assesments of finished jobs. Advise on technical issues, customer complaints and communicate any quality issues to managment.

Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
